Structure > Node

Table of the defined structural nodes, showing their global coordinates (X,Y,Z), the status (active/inactive) and support flags. New nodes can be inserted and existing nodes modified/deleted using the insert and modification symbols above the list. General information on the currently selected node will be displayed on selection of the i symbol.

Tip:
  • Nodes are points in the structure characterizing the start and end of basic elements (beam elements and spring elements) or - in case of FEM analysis - of the corners of  shell or volume elements respectively. Start and end nodes of FEM bodies are called "Master nodes", the other corner nodes of FEM elements are called "Slave nodes".
  • Nodes need not be exactly at the start, end or corner points but can be eccentrically connected to those by rigid links.
  • Nodes of the cross-section FE mesh are not included in this list.
SettingDescription
Table of Nodes
SettingDescription
Node Node number (allowed numbers are 1 to 99999)
Supp Code, defining whether the node is supported (yes/no)
X Global X coordinate of the node
Y Global Y coordinate of the node
Z Global Z coordinate of the node
Status Code, defining whether the node is active or not (Act/Dact)
MastNo1 only for "Slave nodes" in FEM analysis: number of the related "Master node" (start or end node of the FEM body).
MastNo2, MastNo3, MastNo4 not used
